BCM302 Peer Review 2 (Beta Review)

The first beta I reviewed was Miki’s Tactile Touch. Her project is moving forward, she posted the first episode of the podcast. For the design of the podcast cover, she well explained the elements she used. The graphics design and arrangement are well-organized and understandable. Like she used hands and the elements of The creation of Adam to highlight the purpose of the project: to highlight the touch of the Tactile technologies. She also put the quote on the cover to attract the audience and let the audience know what the podcast is going to be. Her podcast is made in a Fast, Inexpensive, Simple, and Tiny way. Use lower cost and produce an efficient prototype. For social media, she explained how to use different social media for distribution and promotion. She explored the features of different social media and exploit them to spread out her messages. She analyzed the feedback of the first podcast and hopefully, the podcast was very well. After she released the first podcast, she also read the figures provided by Spotify and make changes if needed. I think the distribution of the podcast is good since she chooses two major apps that younger adults will use for listening to podcasts. However, I suggest Miki add more hashtags in the promotion of social media. For example, #podcast, #tactile, or the names of the podcast. Since the hashtags can help to enlarge the publicity of your tweets or posts, and it would be more audience can read your post and click to the podcast.

The second beta I reviewed was Ellix’s. His topic is about movies, something like analysis and express his opinions on movies. For the beta blog, he explained one of the prototypes of the project. The blog about movies including color use, how the story enhances the visual experience, and camera work. I clearly understand the themes and content of his project. However, in the beta blog. He didn’t mention the feedback loop of his project like how he collect feedback from his audience and adjust refer to the feedback. Besides, in the beta blog, I can’t see any details about how he uses social media to execute his purpose and ideas for the project. So, I decided to review his pitch since he didn’t mention any details about the beta. For his methodology, he is going to use the film reviews from the audience or critics and make an analysis of them. And I believe the beta blog is one of the examples of the prototype. He is using blogs to present the analysis and his personal ideas. I also the first blog he release for the project. He is expressing his ideas of ‘good movies’. However, he didn’t use other social media to promote the blog. It affects the publicity of his blog. For the exploitation of the blog. He didn’t put any images to accompany the text. It might affect how he approaches his audience. To conclude, I have serval suggestions for his project:

  1. Use other social media to promote his blog like Twitter with tags #movies etc.
  2. Try to use images to accompany his text, to enhance the reading experience.
  3. He should offer a way for the audience to give feedback to him like comments sections or another interesting way.
